What the name means
Plenty of sites attach a stock photo and an invented career history to a byline to make the pages feel more authoritative. We are not doing that. Ellis Vantorre is a working name that identifies the editorial standard applied to these pages and gives corrections somewhere specific to land. There is no claimed degree, no claimed employer, no years-of-experience count and no photograph, because inventing any of that would be the exact behavior this site is meant to be an alternative to.

What the role actually covers
- Sourcing. Finding the publisher that produced a figure, using it directly, and listing it in the source block at the bottom of the page. Numbers that cannot be traced to a source do not get published.
- Checking. Reading the primary document rather than a summary of it, and keeping the gap between what a source says and what this site claims as narrow as possible. Where a source is uncertain or gives a range, the page gives the range too.
- Updating. Rechecking cost and incentive pages against their sources at least quarterly, and sooner when a rule changes. Moving the last-updated date only when the page was genuinely rechecked, not to look fresh.
- Answering corrections. Reading every correction sent to [email protected], verifying it against the source, and fixing or pulling the claim. Corrections jump the queue ahead of everything else.
What the byline is not
- Not a mechanic, a dealer, or anyone with workshop access to the cars discussed
- Not a tax advisor, and not able to tell you whether you personally clear an income cap
- Not a licensed electrician, on a site that talks about home charger installs
- Not a tester: no dyno runs, no range tests, no measured install jobs behind these pages
Where a page needs expertise this site does not have, it says so and sends you to someone who does. That is the honest version of authority available to a small independent site, and we would rather publish that than a fabricated one.
